Day 1 (20th May)
A raining morning, is the first day of my trip and also the last day in the hostel in Chinese University of Hong Kong. Settled some of the hostel issues, threw 2 big bags of things that I cannot bring back...such a waste...but can't help it. Quickly settled everything and checkout of my hostel, sad to leave this place, gave Lian jie a quick hug in the lift, and bid farewell to all ah jie who have been taking great care of me for this whole semester.

Here I go, a little sad though, but soon nervous and excitment came in and I am all ready to rough it out.

Hong Kong -> Shen Zhen Airport -> Li Jiang

Although 4 of us are travelling together, we are departing from different places, 2 of us depart from Guang Zhou while my friend Mancila and I will depart from HK.

This trip we will go to few parts of Yun Nan, in this order:
Li Jiang -> Shangri La -> Lu Gu Hu (Lake)

Each place we will be staying 2 to 3 days.

Our plane transit at Kun Ming, almost missed the plane to Li Jiang as I was queuing for toilet!!! They told us the plane will depart 45mins later but apparent the 45mins starts counting from the moment the plane reaches Kun Ming airport and not from the time they told us >< Heard last call when I was in the toilet, quickly dash to the gate after that.

Reaches Li Jiang airport around the same time as the other two tour mates, Alison and Xin Xin, at around 5.30pm. Took a cab to the Old Town of Li Jiang, this is where most tourist stay. We checked into a motel and went out to explore the town.

There are alot of restaurants / food houses and pubs. Also there are alot of Na Xi Tribal girl standing outside the pub or sitting at the roof there challenging singing of tribal songs. They call it "dui ge", however tourist will sing pop songs while they sing their tribal songs. Hahhaa...a weird scene isn't it? But its rather fun....both party have to ends with :

Ya Shuo Ya Shuo Ya Ya Shuo -> not sure what it means however it make both side's singing sound like they are linked.

After that we went to a Na Xi restaurant to have a taste of their food.

Na Xi Girls sitting by the window compeititng with guys on the other side.

This is their "Liang Fen", is a cold plate.

An interesting thing we saw at the wall of the restaurant. Some of the pictures are way off the meaning of the words!

After dinner we went out for a night walk, enjoy the cold weather (we are on a high land, so despite it is ending of MAY the temperature is still quite low.

Look at the wording on it!!!
(It says please do not mistake me as a dustbin)

Then on our way back, we saw this Na Xi tribe girl dancing and ends off with such a nice pose that you see many cameras come snapping at her. So she started posing for the cameras :)
(Of course, I am one of them snapping at her. Look at her dress!!! Isn't it gorgeous?)

In Yun Nan, the sky turns dark very late, their 8pm is like Singapore 6 plus in the evening...thus we always tend to think is still early as the sky just turned dark.
