Neodymium Strength vs. Tiny Size: Tested DIY Weaknesses Revealed

We recently evaluated the 80-pack of DIYMAG Small Round Neodymium Magnets, impressed by their rare earth power despite their miniature size. Ideal for fridges, whiteboards, and crafts, these magnets offered surprising grip, easily holding notes and photos. However, our tests revealed a few quirks. Their small surface area made them struggle with irregular or thick surfaces, requiring precise placement. While strong, they lacked the stability needed for heavier objects, reminding us that size isn’t always a substitute for practicality. Yet, for lightweight DIY projects or decorative purposes, they proved surprisingly versatile. Their compact design is a bright spot, but careful application is key. Overall, a fun and functional addition to our desk drawer—just don’t expect miracles if the task calls for heavy-duty magnetism.
