Examining the Design and Materials

Review Summary
Elizabeth5.0 out of 5 stars Works on certain trees
I started a magnolia and 2 mimosa trees. The mimosa thrived, while the magnolia showed no growth after 5 weeks. Figs, however, rooted successfully. The product's design is intuitive, with a built-in closure tab and zip ties. I'd recommend the smaller size for delicate plants, though the larger ones are better for thicker branches.
Jerry Hall5.0 out of 5 stars Looks good, well made
The sizes fit branches up to 1/2 inch (large) and 1/4 inch (small). No issues with the zip ties, though I used bonsai wire instead for a snug fit. Works well for grafting and air layering.
Botanical Bounty4.0 out of 5 stars Really small.
The smaller size feels underutilized for most projects.

I started a magnolia and 2 mimosa trees all at the same time. As you see in the pictures, the mimosa did GREAT! I didn't take pics of the end result for the magnolia, but it was still a bare limb as if I had started it yesterday. No growth. I left them to root for about 5 weeks with these results. I just started a fig and I'm sure it will do great as well as they are so easy to propagate.

As described. The larger ones can accommodate a branch approximately 1/2 inch in diameter. The smaller a little more than 1/4. I had no issues with the zip ties. Just tried 2 on a coral bark maple and 2 of the smaller ones on a laceleaf maple. Now I wait...

Great design and sturdy too. Easy to fill and apply (they give you zip ties but there is also a built in closure tab - works great). Two sizes - Large and Small - probably should have bought the all smalls pack as the large size are quite large (ie.. for Trees!). They are reusable and sturdy so I highly recommend them.

Rejected. No success. Watering is near unachievable and zip ties are worthless.

Tried rooting cuttings for two years, these finally did it for me! I used coco coir and perlite in the ball and rooting hormone powder on the cut area of the branch, YRMV. Also, you can use small binder clips to keep them shut should you run out of zip ties.
